Top 100: Sweden's Most Profitable E-commerce Companies 2026

There are many smaller companies with good margins (Photo: AI)
New mapping.

Ehandel.se has mapped the 100 most profitable e-commerce companies in Sweden based on the latest annual reports. The investigation shows a clear trend: it is not necessarily the largest turnover giants that show the highest margins. Instead, the list is largely characterized by smaller, niche players who have succeeded in creating efficient operations.

There are several different ways to calculate and evaluate a company's profitability, depending on which financial factors are prioritized. In this review, we have chosen to base our assessment on operating margin, which measures operating profit in relation to net sales.

The analysis of the 100 best-performing companies shows that the majority of the companies on the list are small in size. The median company in the compilation has a turnover of 3.5 million Swedish krona. A total of 61 of the 100 companies have a turnover of less than 5 million krona, and 76 of them are below 10 million krona. For half of the listed companies, operating profit amounts to less than 1 million krona.

The companies at the very top of the list are significantly ahead of other players in terms of their margins. It should be noted that Ehandel.se has not studied in detail whether there may be one-off effects that explain the highest values. The investigation has also not isolated revenue from e-commerce only, which means that parts of the turnover in several cases also originate from other business areas, such as physical stores.

Major Players Take a Place

Although smaller companies make up the majority, three well-known companies from Ehandel.se's previous compilation of the largest e-commerce companies in terms of turnover are also on this profitability list.

These are Caia Cosmetics (64th place in operating margin, 51st place in turnover), Photowall (75th place in margin, 76th place in turnover) and Toteme (93rd place in margin, 29th place in turnover). Despite ranking lower on the profitability list due to their larger operations, these three companies together account for 68.5 percent of the total turnover among the 100 listed companies.

Facts about the mapping:

  • The compilation is based on the latest annual reports for companies registered until the end of May 2026.
  • Only e-commerce companies with a net turnover of at least 1 million krona have been included in the data.
  • Companies must have an active e-commerce operation with a functioning shopping cart on their website, or conduct sales of physical products through external marketplaces such as Tradera or Amazon.
  • Companies that only sell digital products have been excluded.
  • Inactive companies and websites that have shown server errors or other error messages during the study period have been removed.

Method:

  • The profitability metric is based on operating margin, which is calculated using the formula: (Operating profit after depreciation / Net sales) * 100.
  • This calculation method is one of the two standard measures used by Statistics Sweden (SCB) to measure financial profitability in the business sector.
