The Kid ASA Group today published its unaudited revenue figures for the first quarter of the financial year. The Group's total revenue increased by 8 percent to NOK 800.5 million, compared to NOK 741 million during the same period last year. Comparable sales increased by 6.1 percent.
E-commerce continues to gain market share within the Group and accounted for 14.1 percent of total revenue during the quarter, an increase from 12.3 percent the previous year.
Strong Recovery for Hemtex
For the Swedish part of the business, Hemtex, revenue increased by 6.6 percent to SEK 289.2 million. Comparable sales increased by 4 percent. Most prominent was the development of e-commerce, which increased by 31.5 percent.
This development comes after a challenging fourth quarter of 2025, when Hemtex's online sales decreased by 8.2 percent. The loss was then due to logistical problems in connection with the ramp-up of a new central warehouse in Borås, which, according to the company, led to a revenue loss of a total of NOK 30–40 million for the Group during that period.
In connection with previous reporting, Marianne Fulford, CEO of Kid ASA, commented on the importance of the new logistics solution:
The warehouse effects are short-term, and I am confident that the new Group warehouse will become an important strategic platform that strengthens efficiency, scalability and our long-term competitiveness.
According to the company's previous forecasts, the logistics situation was expected to stabilize during 2026, which the quarterly figures now indicate.
Expansion and Store Development
During the first quarter, Hemtex opened two new stores, moved one and carried out a renovation. One store was closed during the period. At the end of the quarter, the number of physical stores for Hemtex amounted to 124, excluding franchise units, which is an increase from 120 stores at the same time last year.
For the Norwegian segment, Kid Interior, revenue increased by 8.9 percent to NOK 492.7 million. E-commerce in Norway grew by 19.9 percent during the quarter.
Kid ASA plans to publish the full quarterly report for the first quarter on May 13, 2026.
