The action took place on the streets around Drottninggatan, Hötorget and Kungsgatan. The inspiration was drawn from traditional funeral parties in New Orleans, and the purpose was to mark that the electronics chain is now returning with a physical store to Stockholm's inner city.
Stockholm has become too expensive, we want to free the Stockholmers from the shackles of high prices once and for all, and what could be better than organizing a really fun funeral party? says Eddie Hernandez, Marketing Manager at Power.
The Public Documented the Event
The event attracted attention from people who were in the city on Friday. Many passers-by stopped to look, take pictures and record videos that were then spread on social media. During the march, the procession stopped for a ceremonial speech to be held in front of the coffin.
Nobody likes high prices, so it felt really nice to bury the crap. And damn it was fun to lead a festive funeral procession. I want to do this again, says Anis Don Demina.
Opens New Store
The new establishment is located at Kungsgatan 27. The doors to the store will open on Thursday, May 28th at 6 p.m. The store management announces that the preparations for the opening are complete.
