After being rescued from bankruptcy by four former executives, The Body Shop has turned to million-dollar profits and begun a restructuring of its store network. Now, the chain is taking the next step in its local presence by joining the quick commerce company Wolt.
Through the collaboration, nearly 300 products from the chain's range within skincare, body care, fragrance and gifts will be available for direct ordering in the app, with delivery from the nearest store.
We want to meet customers on their terms and make it even easier to access our range. Through the collaboration with Wolt, we can offer a smooth, new way to shop from our stores and reach more customers locally, says George Pigott, Retail Manager at The Body Shop Sweden.
Rolling out from north to south
The launch covers a total of 17 stores distributed across 15 Swedish cities. In Stockholm, deliveries are made from the stores in Liljeholmen and Mall of Scandinavia, in Malmö from Emporia and in Helsingborg from both Väla and City.
In addition to the metropolitan areas, stores in Gothenburg, Örebro, Västerås, Jönköping, Halmstad, Borås, Falun, Karlskrona, Skellefteå, Umeå, Östersund and Alingsås are also connected to the platform.
Beauty grows within quick commerce
The beauty and personal care category has become an increasingly important segment for the delivery companies. Previously, among others, beauty giant Lyko teamed up with Wolt to offer fast home deliveries from selected stores.
According to Wolt, the company has globally mediated over 2.5 million orders within the Health & Beauty segment from just over 3,000 connected stores. In the Nordics, beauty customers on the platform place an order on average once a month.
Beauty and body care products are things people both plan for and sometimes need at short notice. With The Body Shop on Wolt, customers can easily replenish everyday favorites, find a gift or treat themselves to something extra, while local stores become more accessible in their immediate area. That's exactly the kind of choice we want to create through Wolt, says Linda Fors, Country Manager at Wolt Sweden.
