The news first reached the market on June 18th, and now the new project is being rolled out in practice. Audiobook company Storytel is launching Storytel Books, a new online bookstore for physical books.
The underlying technology and daily operations of this new venture are being placed in the hands of Sweden Buyersclub AB. This agreement marks the starting signal for Buyersclub's new business area aimed at companies, i.e., B2B.
The assignment covers several parts and involves them taking care of the entire chain. This includes product flows, order management, logistics solutions and customer service, as well as the ongoing commercial development of the bookstore.
AI-driven infrastructure
The foundation of the project is Buyersclub's own developed e-commerce platform.
It has recently undergone a reconstruction where AI has been woven into the central functions. In this environment, systems for product data, campaign management and recommendations are gathered in one place.
This consolidation reduces the need for multiple integrations and facilitates automation of processes.
With our platform and operational organization, we can develop the customer experience while streamlining the work behind every order. Being entrusted to deliver the platform and operation behind Storytel's new bookstore is a strong confirmation of what we have built and a commercial breakthrough for our B2B offering," says Emil Henriksson, CEO of Buyersclub.
An expanded offering
The model is based on the goods remaining with the suppliers until a customer completes a purchase. By combining integrations with suppliers with its own warehouse, capital tie-up is kept down.
The same setup and technology has been used previously for the company's own online store and their niche stores, spanning more than ten categories, such as books via Bookhero.
Sweden Buyersclub now sees the opportunity to join forces with more players in e-commerce. The business model allows them to either assist with the launch of new projects or step in and manage the operation for already established e-retailers. The goal is for these companies to be able to benefit from the infrastructure to reduce their costs and increase their development rate.
