Sweden Buyersclub Acquires Babyland – Relaunches E-commerce in 2027

The store recently threw in the towel.
Saved from the grave.

Just weeks after the venerable Babyland shut down its website, the brand is getting a new lease on life. Sweden Buyersclub is now stepping in to purchase the intangible assets to relaunch the online store under its own management.

In early October, Ehandel.se reported that Babyland had ceased operations after 14 years online and that the e-commerce site had been shut down. The announcement came after a very difficult period for the underlying company, Babyland Online Nordic AB, which experienced a disastrous year in 2025 where losses soared to over 53 million Swedish krona.

However, the classic brand with roots dating back to 1959 will not remain in the grave for long. Now, e-commerce company Sweden Buyersclub AB announces that it is acquiring the Babyland brand as well as its own brand, Little Louie. The deal also includes the domains babyland.se, babyland.no and babyland.fi, along with customer registers, social media accounts and image material.

No personnel or debts included

This is a pure asset purchase of intangible assets. Sweden Buyersclub is not taking over personnel, goods in stock, existing agreements or any of the old debts and obligations. The purchase price is paid in cash and is not considered by the company to materially affect Buyersclub's financial position.

The plan now is to relaunch and reopen babyland.se during the first quarter of 2027. The site will then function as a dedicated storefront loaded with baby equipment and toys from well-known brands, complemented by its own brand, Little Louie.

According to Sweden Buyersclub CEO Emil Henriksson, the deal is a perfect way to reach a new target group through an already established channel.

Babyland is one of Sweden's most established brands in baby and children's products, and with its own storefront we can meet young parents under a name they already recognize. It is the same platform that will drive everything from buyersclub.se to storytelbooks.com, and therefore we can launch Babyland with low fixed costs, says Emil Henriksson.

Growing rapidly with shared platform

The key to being able to roll out Babyland without incurring heavy costs lies in Buyersclub's technical and operational setup. The online store will be connected directly to the company's common and automated platform, which already drives the sites buyersclub.se, bookhero.se and kontorsboden.se. Because product data, purchasing, pricing, inventory and logistics are fully shared between the sites, Babyland can be launched without any new fixed costs for either IT or logistics.

The acquisition of Babyland is the latest step in a eventful autumn for Sweden Buyersclub. The company has maintained a high pace and recently announced that it has exceeded the dream limit of 30,000 paying monthly subscribers in its membership club. In addition, it was recently announced that Emil Henriksson and his team are taking over the entire operation of online physical bookstores for the audiobook giant Storytel through the site storytelbooks.com, which also rests on the same technical platform.
