Clas Ohlson does not normally report its e-commerce sales in the monthly sales updates, saving the exact digital key figures for the quarterly reports. However, when the retail chain presented the figures for October on Friday morning, management chose to specifically highlight the digital business and subsidiary Spares as important drivers.
Total sales in October amounted to SEK 1,254 million, an increase of 19 percent compared to SEK 1,053 million in the same month last year. Organic growth landed at 12 percent, while currency effects contributed 5 percent and completed e-commerce acquisitions accounted for 2 percent of the increase.
Spares Channels Stand Out
According to the CEO, this autumn's marketing investments have had a clear effect in both the physical store network and online.
The positive sales trend continued in October with organic growth of 12 percent. Increased investment in marketing and a relevant assortment contributed to strong customer traffic both in stores and online, not least in Spares' sales channels, which developed very well during the month.
Says CEO Kristofer Tonström in a comment on this morning's sales figures.
Acquisitions Bear Fruit
Spares Nordic, which includes online stores such as Teknikdelar and Batteriexperten, has functioned as a clear digital growth engine within the Clas Ohlson Group in recent years. As Ehandel.se previously reported, the e-commerce group has grown rapidly with good profitability, focusing on spare parts and technical accessories.
During the past year, the group has also stepped up the pace of acquisitions in the digital segment. The acquired units, which now contribute two percentage points to October's total growth, consist of Phonelife, which includes the brand Teknikmagasinet, and Reservdelaronline Sverige AB, which was acquired earlier this year to broaden the spare parts business towards, among other things, garden and white goods.
Looking at the six first months of the broken financial year, from May to October 2026, Clas Ohlson's accumulated sales now amount to SEK 6,806 million, which corresponds to a total increase of 17 percent. At the end of October, the group had a total of 254 stores, ten more than at the same time last year. The proportion of total turnover that consists of pure e-commerce will be clear when Clas Ohlson releases its full quarterly report in December.
