The changes in the boardroom come amidst a period of strong growth for the West Swedish clothing chain. Earlier this year, Ehandel.se reported that Lager 157 increased its turnover to SEK 4.4 billion in the group during the last financial year, while operating profit landed at nearly SEK 770 million.
In the Swedish operating company, sales amounted to SEK 3.6 billion during the same period. Just a couple of months ago, the chain also opened what the company describes as its largest store in the world in Västerås.
Now, however, several of the external names on the board are choosing to part ways with the company, reports DI and Breakit. According to information from the company, the reshuffle and departures are taking place “as planned”.
From Family Board to External Profiles
It was at the end of 2024 that founder Stefan Palm chose to break with the company's previous tradition of a purely family board. Ahead of continued expansion in Europe and the rollout in Germany, he brought in a completely external board which was then presented as a handpicked team of specialists.
The chairman's gavel was then passed to Hanna Moisander, founder of the board network Deb and with a previous background from, among others, the e-commerce company Nelly. Together with Stefan Palm, she recruited the other external members to build up the company's international structure.
Two Members Leaving Completely
Barely two years after the external steering group took office, Stefan Palm is now taking back the position of chairman of the board from Hanna Moisander.
At the same time, it is clear that communications strategist Moa Tyborn and financial expert Carl-Richard Häggman, with a background from, among others, Klarna and Izettle, are leaving the board completely.
