Postnord Q2 2026: Increased Package Volumes and Growing TPL Business

Annemarie Gardshol, CEO
”The investments are yielding results”.

Postnord presents its interim report for the second quarter of 2026. Group sales are increasing, mainly driven by growth in parcel and logistics businesses, but operating profit is burdened by the ongoing transition in the Danish market. During the quarter, Amazon's logistics operations were also integrated into the company's TPL network.

Net sales for the second quarter amounted to SEK 9.22 billion, compared to SEK 8.84 billion during the same period of the previous year. This represents an increase of 2 percent in fixed currency for comparable units.

Operating profit (EBIT) declined to SEK 189 million, compared to SEK 262 million during the second quarter of the previous year. The decline in earnings is primarily explained by developments in Denmark. The Danish postal business was discontinued at the end of 2025, "which has resulted in lost synergies in Denmark between the parcel business and the former postal business."

Despite the challenges in Denmark, the company's CEO and Group Chief Executive Annemarie Gardshol emphasizes that the company's underlying logistics business is moving in the right direction:

At the same time, the majority of our other business segments improved their results in the quarter. This is a clear indication that our focused efforts are yielding results and that we continue to take important steps in the transformation towards becoming the leading parcel and logistics player in the Nordics, she says in the report.

E-commerce Growth Boosts Parcels and Logistics

On the volume side, a clear division is visible in the business. Letter volumes decreased by 18 percent during the quarter, while parcel volumes increased by a total of 9 percent. Within the third-party logistics (TPL) segment, significant growth is visible. Net sales for Postnord TPL increased by 22 percent during the quarter to SEK 835 million.

A key reason for the growth in the TPL segment is the company's partnership with Amazon.

The higher turnover is explained by the start of assignments for Amazon and several other new customers, Postnord writes in the report.

During the quarter it took over the operation of the American e-commerce giant's logistics operations in Eskilstuna.

To meet the demands of continued development in e-commerce, Postnord is investing in both technical and physical infrastructure. Among the presented plans for the Swedish market is the establishment of a new parcel terminal in Timrå.
