Stepping up in the Nordics.

The Chinese mobile manufacturer Oppo continues its expansion in the Swedish market. According to the website Mobil, the company has now opened the doors to an official Swedish online store to sell its products directly to consumers. According to the company, the purpose of its own e-commerce is to make products more accessible in Sweden and to attract more users of their mobile phones and connected devices.

The launch of the online store is marked by an initial campaign that includes price reductions on selected units. The company is simultaneously conducting a targeted effort towards users of its sister brand OnePlus. Customers who already own a OnePlus phone are offered a free charger, while supplies last, provided they purchase specific Oppo models in the new store.

The opening of its own e-commerce channel is the latest step in Oppo's establishment in the Nordic region. After previously having a cautious presence in Europe, partly due to a now-resolved patent dispute, the company has recently increased its local presence.

Aims for Third Place

In August this year, a distribution agreement was signed with Elgiganten for the Nordic market, and the brand has also been taken on by Swedish telecom operators. The company's stated goal is to establish itself as the third-largest mobile brand in the Nordics.

Oppo was founded in 2004 and was part of the electronics group BBK Electronics for many years. Today, the brand is part of a structure where it collaborates closely with OnePlus and Realme. Since 2021, Oppo and OnePlus have integrated large parts of their operations, meaning they now share resources within research, development and supply chains. This close relationship forms the basis of the current launch campaign where the company's e-commerce now actively addresses OnePlus users.
