Luxplus was founded in Copenhagen in 2013 by entrepreneurs Martin Ersted Schultz and Peter Sønderby-Wagner. The e-commerce company's business model is based on a subscription concept where customers pay a monthly fee to shop brands within cosmetics, health and household at discounted prices. The business expanded to Sweden in late 2015, and the company is now active in several European markets, including Norway, Finland, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

Until now, Luxplus has supplied customers in all countries from its own central warehouse in Denmark, but now the move is happening across the Sound. The relocation is described as a step to streamline the supply chain in line with the company's growth.

We see that we are growing steadily and that our offer to consumers is highly appreciated. Therefore, we have identified a need to review our logistics. Helsingborg is one of Northern Europe's strongest logistics hubs, and together with Nowaste we get a solution that gives us both scalability and efficiency for our continued growth, says Andreas Stendevad, Head of Logistics & Operations at Luxplus, in a press release.

The terminal that Luxplus is now moving into was put into use in 2023. The facility functions as a multi-solution where several of Nowaste's customers share infrastructure, personnel and technology. According to Nowaste, the facility houses picking technology developed in collaboration with the research institute SICS AI and the Lund-based company Cognibotics.

According to the logistics operator, Luxplus' establishment is part of a broader trend where Danish e-commerce companies are seeking Skåne for their logistics needs. Competitive conditions, infrastructure and access to the right expertise are cited as driving factors.

They have high demands on service and quality towards consumers. We are also seeing a continued increase in interest from Danish players who want to establish their logistics on the Swedish side, says Jesper Brandin, Sales Manager at Nowaste.
