Low-price chain Rusta continues to grow and now passes seven million members in its loyalty program. At the same time as the membership numbers increase, the company strengthens its position through increased sales and continued geographical expansion of e-commerce.

Club Rusta has grown by 650,000 new members in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Germany over the past twelve months, representing a growth of just over 10 percent. The company notes that members shop more frequently and for larger amounts than customers outside the program.

“The fact that we are now passing seven million members shows that our offer is relevant to an increasing number of consumers, at a time when the need for a clear low-price alternative is increasing,” says Jozef Khasho, Sales Manager at Rusta.

Strengthened Profitability and E-commerce Expansion

The latest quarterly report shows that the group's net sales increased by 9 percent to nearly SEK 3.8 billion, with operating profit (EBITA) of SEK 476 million. During the period, e-commerce was also rolled out in the Norwegian market, meaning that the digital business now covers Sweden, Finland and Norway.

CEO Change and Future Goals

The news of the membership growth comes as Göran Westerberg prepares to hand over the CEO position to Cathrine Wigzell. During the management's final sprint, the company has specified its future establishment rate to include 65 to 80 new physical department stores by April 2029.

“Together we have built a growing, profitable and robust company that is well equipped for the next phase of the growth journey,” states Göran Westerberg.
