Lindex’s digital trade dampened during transition to new omni-warehouse in Q2

Stabilization phase completed.

The Lindex Group reported increased revenue and a higher adjusted operating profit for the second quarter of the year. At the same time, the group experienced a decline in digital sales, largely explained by the transition to a new omni-warehouse for the Lindex division and assortment changes within the Stockmann division.

For the Lindex division, e-commerce accounted for 17.7 percent of total revenue during the period. Digital sales decreased by 9.6 percent in local currencies compared to the same period last year. The main reason for the subdued digital growth is the stabilization phase associated with the operation of the company's new omni-warehouse.

Susanne Ehnbåge, CEO of the Lindex Group, comments on the warehouse transition in the report.

The ramp-up of Lindex division’s new omni-warehouse progressed towards full-scale operation during the second quarter. Although the transition continued to impact digital sales compared to the previous year, operations remained stable, and at the end of the quarter, the focus shifted from stabilization to optimizing operations, she states.

She adds that the first efficiency improvements have been achieved and that the focus is on the long-term benefits in the form of increased efficiency, cost savings and future growth opportunities. The new omni-warehouse, now fully owned by Lindex, is expected to generate annual savings of 10 million euros from 2026. Lindex is also continuing to work on its digital transformation by developing AI-based solutions and improving digital customer touchpoints.

Within the Stockmann division, digital sales accounted for 15.8 percent of total sales. This represented a decrease of 2.6 percent, primarily explained by last year's divestment of furniture in connection with the category transitioning to an external partner. The division continues to invest in omnichannel solutions and has launched a new application during the period. Overall, the Lindex Group's revenue increased by 2.2 percent to 259.5 million euros during the quarter, and the adjusted operating profit amounted to 30.5 million euros.
