At the Lindex office in Gothenburg, which is the hub for the company's administration with around 400 employees, preparations are now underway for the workforce to be reduced. The measure is explained as a step to adapt the organization's structure to how the actual work is carried out today.
Lindex will adjust its organization at the Gothenburg headquarters to better reflect its operating model. As part of the process, Lindex has issued a notice of 30 employees at the headquarters, says Kristina Hermansson, Head of Communications at the company.
Demand for Cost Control
The announcement of the cuts comes shortly after the presentation of the company's latest quarterly report.
In July, Lindex Group reported increased sales and improved operating profit. The company's CEO, Susanne Ehnbåge, then explained that the improved margins were the result of higher gross profit and strict management of the company's expenses.
Although sales pointed upwards during the second quarter, management emphasized that the future is difficult to assess. Already at the beginning of the third quarter, the CEO flagged that there is uncertainty in the market.
