Jysk celebrates 35 years in the Swedish market and presents its new sales figures in connection with this.
Last year, turnover was SEK 5.5 billion, with an operating profit of SEK 294.5 million. This year's report shows a turnover of SEK 6 billion, which is an increase of 9 percent. However, the company has not yet communicated the operating profit for the recently ended year.
Celebrating 35 years in Sweden by breaking records demonstrates how strong Jysk is. Our employees do a fantastic job every day, and their commitment has been crucial for us to both grow with existing customers and welcome hundreds of thousands of new customers to Jysk, says Johan Sjödin, CEO of Jysk Sweden.
Record-breaking distribution to staff
The successes in stores around the country lead to a historically high bonus payment for the chain's approximately 1,700 store employees. Last year, the bonus totaled just over SEK 38 million. This year, that pot grows to SEK 56 million, which is distributed among the staff in the 158 stores.
The bonus is the most fun cost we have. Our employees have welcomed more customers than ever, helped them create comfortable homes and at the same time delivered fantastic sales growth. Being able to give back in the form of a record bonus feels both important and very pleasing, says Johan Sjödin.
Growth at a global level
The furniture company also reports a sales increase internationally.
The group reaches a total turnover of DKK 52.3 billion, which corresponds to an increase of 13 percent compared to last year. During the same period, over 14 million new customers found their way to the company's network of e-commerce and physical stores in 49 countries.
We maintained our positive momentum throughout the year by focusing on our customers, good offers and a relevant and attractive range. I would like to thank our fantastic employees for their hard work and commitment, and especially for their strong customer focus, says Rami Jensen, CEO of Jysk.
