The new technical platform is built on a central order management system, known as an OMS, which connects the online store with the inventory levels of the physical stores.
Customers can see inventory levels in each store and choose whether to pick up the products on site or have them delivered to their home. Built-in order logic directs each order to the store that can fulfill the delivery fastest.
We have replaced our entire system landscape and centralized important digital support functions to give all our stores a common, stable foundation to stand on. All to enable them to focus even more on their customers, both in the store and online, says Alexander Knutsson, Chief Digital Officer at Jaktia, in a statement.
A store's function will be, in addition to continuing to be just a store, to also be one of a total of 140 warehouse hubs for our e-commerce operation
Halved Administration and Timeline
In addition to the logistics solution, the platform includes digital features for advice, the sale of used firearms, and the ability to apply for a firearms license directly via the web. The automation in the system covers purchasing, inventory, picking, packing, and customer administration, relieving the daily operations in the stores.
Thanks to the centralization of product administration, the stores can estimate to halve the time they spend on administration. Instead, they can spend more time taking care of customers, says Alexander Knutsson.
The e-commerce initiative is being rolled out gradually. The goal is for all 140 stores in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark to be connected to the new system and fully operational by the end of 2027.

Slettengren became the new CEO, who was previously the company's CFO, while Heléne Freij stepped in as the new CFO.
Jaktia is part of the Burdock Outdoor Group, which was formed after the merger with Interjakt and has a turnover of approximately SEK 2.3 billion.
