The company behind the delivery services Instabox, Budbee and Porterbuddy has recently integrated its services with several players in the circular commerce sector. These include Tradera, Sellpy, Plick, Dutch Marktplaats and most recently Vinted.
Now, Instabee Group is choosing to organize this type of consumer-to-consumer commerce in its own, dedicated business area.
The purpose is to utilize the existing European network of parcel lockers and home deliveries to facilitate purchases and sales of second-hand goods between private individuals.
Consumer-to-consumer is a natural next step for us. We are seeing growth in circular consumption and private trade, and through our partnerships we have already built a solid foundation. Now we are consolidating our efforts into a dedicated strategic business area to be able to invest long-term, accelerate development and make it even easier for people to buy and sell from each other," says Joakim Slettengren, Head of Growth at Instabee Group.
Same requirements as traditional e-commerce
The thinking behind the reorganization is that the transition to more circular commerce places new demands on logistics. Consumers today expect it to be just as quick and easy to send a sweater to another private individual as it is to order a new item from a traditional online store.
By allowing existing logistics flows to handle these shipments as well, the company aims to meet these expectations, increase volumes for its partners and at the same time leverage its technical platform.
The company believes that its previous experience with deliveries gives it an advantage as it now focuses more clearly on the private market.
Our users appreciate us for the simplicity and high quality of the delivery experience. The trust we have built up over many years gives us a very good starting point as we now strengthen our offering to the consumer-to-consumer market. We want to give consumers the same smooth delivery experience when they, for example, sell children's clothes or buy home furnishings from each other, as when they shop from an e-commerce retailer," says Joakim Slettengren.
