Kid ASA, the group behind the Swedish home furnishing chain Hemtex, has just released its preliminary sales figures for the third quarter of 2026. The overall picture is positive, with the Hemtex segment reporting a turnover of SEK 362.2 million (309.6). This represents a significant increase of 17 percent. Sales in comparable stores (like-for-like) increased by a strong 16.6 percent.
Dip in the Curve Online
However, online sales were considerably more challenging. Hemtex's online sales decreased by 12.7 percent during the third quarter (compared to an increase of 30.2 percent in Q3 2025). This decline is a clear contrast to how the year has looked so far.
During the second quarter of the year Hemtex increased its e-commerce sales by a full 36 percent, in connection with the rollout of its new digital initiative in Germany.
Approaching the Billion Mark
Looking at the first nine months of the year, Hemtex is rapidly approaching the magical billion mark. Revenue so far this year is up 12.3 percent to SEK 989.7 million. Despite the dip in the third quarter, Hemtex's online sales for the first nine months are still up 15.3 percent.
For the entire Kid Group, revenue in the third quarter amounted to just over NOK 1 billion, an increase of 15.2 percent. However, the group's total online share fell to 11.9 percent (down from 14.4 percent in Q3 2025).
Hemtex closed the quarter with 122 physical stores, excluding 11 franchise stores. The group's full interim report will be presented on November 5, 2026.
