Eric Lundberg, outgoing CEO
"Great respect for his decision".

After four years at the helm, Eric Lundberg is now choosing to leave his role as CEO of ICA Sweden. He believes that the goals he aimed for when he took office have been achieved and that the business rests on a stable foundation. The work to find a new leader to steer the grocery giant further into the future has therefore begun.

When Eric Lundberg first stepped into the CEO's office, there was a clear plan for how the chain would develop going forward. According to the press release, that work is now complete.

The business has received a new structure and a strategy that the company plans to build on in the coming years.

It has been four intense, developing and rewarding years. When I took office, we had a clear mission and clear goals for the development of ICA Sweden. Today, we have a well-functioning business, a clear strategy and a strong foundation to build on," says Eric Lundberg.

The search has begun

To avoid creating a vacuum in leadership, a sudden shift will be avoided. Eric Lundberg will remain in his position for as long as until the end of February 2027.

At the same time, the group management is fully searching for the person who will take overall responsibility for the network of around 1,300 independent retailers.

I have great respect for Eric's decision and we can today state that ICA Sweden is strong and well equipped for the future. Eric has made a contribution and I would like to extend a warm thank you to him already now. At the same time, I am pleased that he continues to lead the business in the coming months and ensures continuity while we carry out the recruitment of his successor," says Nina Jönsson, CEO and Group Manager of Ica Gruppen.
