A failed delivery of course literature was the start for the company Studentapan, which started in 2012. Now, this e-commerce platform reaches over 150 million kronor in turnover and reports a positive operating profit. This is according to Breakit.

When the founder Philip Axelsson studied in Växjö, he paid for used books that never arrived. Instead, he had to spend thousands of kronor on new course literature.

This event was the starting signal for the platform launched in 2012. The business idea is based on offering an e-commerce platform where users can safely buy and sell both new and used literature, to avoid others ending up in the situation he himself experienced.

“I thought then that there must be a better way to solve this,” said Philip Axelsson in a previous interview with the site.

Increased turnover and positive result

Since the launch, the company has seen an increase in its revenue. In 2021, turnover was 62.8 million kronor. In 2024, revenue reached 140 million kronor.

The upward trend continued in 2025 when turnover increased by 8.6 percent and landed on 152 million kronor. During the same period, an operating profit of 4.2 million kronor was reported.

“The company has continued its organic growth during the year, which has led to increased turnover,” the company writes in its annual report.
