Torkelson Möbler has a 67-year history rooted in Skånes Fagerhult and focuses on solid wood furniture manufacturing. With the acquisition, Torkelson will be incorporated into Venture Design's portfolio, but will continue to operate as an independent brand with a primary focus on physical retailers.

The acquisition is part of our strategic direction, where we are strengthening our focus on retailers. By adding Torkelson as a brand to our portfolio, we are taking a further step in developing an even stronger and more complete offering for physical retail, writes Ola Johansson, CEO of Venture Design, in a press release.

Operationally, the acquisition means that Torkelson's existing inventory will be moved to Venture Design's warehouse during July. Starting August 1, logistics will be integrated, allowing customers to combine products from both brands in a single order. Key personnel currently working in Torkelson's organization will remain with the company.

Furthermore, a launch of a joint assortment is planned at the Furniture Fair in Gothenburg this autumn.

Several Previous Acquisitions

Venture Design has grown rapidly in recent years through several strategic acquisitions, with the stated goal of reaching a turnover of SEK 1 billion. In early 2025 Cura of Sweden, a weighted blanket company, was acquired following a bankruptcy. Prior to that, Venture Design has also acquired and integrated e-commerce players such as Dangarden and Backyard Lifestyle.
