Markus Pilebro, CEO
After tough years.

In the spring, Ehandel.se reported that the hobby player Hobbex, founded in Borås in 1961, has undergone a strategic transformation. Historically a broad mail-order company with physical stores, the business is now described as a streamlined e-commerce company with a main focus on radio-controlled products. Now, the annual report for the financial year 2025 has been registered, confirming the preliminary figures that have been communicated previously.

The annual report for Hobbex Retail AB shows that net sales for 2025 amounted to 21.2 million Swedish kronor. This is an increase compared to 2024, when sales reached 16.9 million kronor. The development corresponds to a sales increase of approximately 25 percent, which is in line with the company's previously submitted information.

A change is also noted in the results. Operating profit for 2025 amounted to 601,630 kronor, compared to -1.8 million kronor during the previous financial year. Profit after financial items landed at 514,048 kronor, an increase from -1.8 million kronor in 2024. The company's equity ratio at the end of the year was 31 percent, compared to 25 percent the previous year. At the same time, the average number of employees increased from 4 to 6.5.

In an interview with Ehandel.se in April, CEO Markus Pilebro explained that the financial development is the result of a changed assortment focus and an internal review.

While we have refined the assortment, we have also reviewed the organization and working methods. After a few tougher years, we achieved a turnaround in 2025 with approximately 25 percent growth and a positive result, Markus Pilebro said at the time.

Part of the company's current strategy to control the value chain is the investment in own brands, so-called Private Label. In connection with the company's 65th anniversary, the player has launched, among other things, a self-developed radio-controlled car. According to management, the purpose is to offer products that lower the threshold for beginners, without reducing the opportunities for upgrading and repair.
