DSV opens new parcel terminal in Stockholm – to sort 10,000 parcels per hour

Tomas Johansson, CEO
Aims to shorten delivery times.

In Spånga, just north of Stockholm, parcels are now rolling in a new logistics hub. To handle the flow of shipments, DSV is opening the doors to a new facility in Lunda. Here, up to 10,000 parcels per hour will be sorted and forwarded to recipients. The purpose is for transport to be faster and reach a wider area in the region.

Inside the facility, the logistics operator has allocated an area of 8,000 square meters specifically for parcel handling. This is part of a larger puzzle where the terminal and offices together occupy 30,605 square meters.

On the same land, there are also two hangars covering just over 16,200 square meters, which are integrated into the daily operations. The entire rolling stock on site is rigged to receive and distribute the parcels shipped each day.

Stockholm is a very important market for us. With the new parcel terminal, we are expanding our capacity in the region and can handle parcel distribution over a wider geographical area. The establishment is an important step in the continued development of our distribution network and gives us a platform to meet future demand, says Tomas Johansson, CEO of DSV Road AB.

Closer to the End Customer

The investment in Stockholm is a step in expanding the transport network throughout Sweden. When parcels are sorted locally, the route to the customer becomes shorter and deliveries faster.

The terminal in Lunda thus makes it possible to deliver parcels at a higher pace to meet the volumes from Swedish e-commerce.

We look forward to strengthening our presence further and creating even better conditions for our customers. With the new terminal, we can offer high capacity, shorter lead times and an efficient distribution that reaches more, says Tomas Johansson.
