Skousen is a Danish player that already operates around 70 franchise stores in its home country and approximately 20 in Norway. All e-commerce and logistics are managed from the headquarters in Aarhus.
In the Swedish market, the concept has previously lacked physical stores, and the Swedish web address has so far only directed visitors to the Danish site.
This is now changing as Kökscentrum Södras ten stores in Småland and Skåne, together with Belabs three stores in the Stockholm area, are changing shape. The takeover of operations and premises from Kökscentrum Södras and Belabs’ total of 13 stores gives the Danish online giant an immediate store network and an infrastructure that enables a broader omnistrategy, where digital commerce can eventually be integrated with local presence.
Million Turnover From Start
The establishment means that the Danish group enters the Swedish market with a turnover of approximately 500 million Swedish kronor from day one.
Whiteaway Group, which has owned Skousen since 2011, is already an established player in Swedish e-commerce through the online stores Tretti.se and Whiteaway.se. By now adding a dozen strategically located physical stores, new conditions are created to meet customers both online and offline.
