Bianca Ingrossos e-commerce empire continues its growth journey and once again proves its extreme appeal. Even before 8:30 a.m. this morning, over 35,000 eager customers were queuing in the digital line.
The pressure to secure the beauty giant's Christmas calendar exploded immediately, and by 10 a.m., the entire stock was sold out.
Selling out in just a few hours demonstrates that the brand's cash registers are ringing, and the calendar generates a massive capital injection long before December's Christmas shopping has even begun. But the intense interest is not an isolated phenomenon.
Industry data shows that the desire to purchase advent calendars increased by 46 percent in September compared to last year, and over the past three years, interest has more than tripled. These figures clearly illustrate why these products have become a vital engine for e-commerce profitability, as they trigger consumers' fear of missing out on exclusive editions.
China Connection Raises Questions
This year's calendar launch is not without its issues, however. While fans frantically refreshed their browsers to maintain their place in the queue, creator Fanny Jooste published a video that quickly went viral on TikTok. This is reported by Bloggbevakning.
In the clip, she holds up a toiletry bag that is an exact duplicate of the exclusive bag that forms the basis of this year's edition from Caia. It is worth noting that the bag also features Caia's logo.
For just under 70 Swedish krona, at today's exchange rate, an seemingly identical product could be purchased via the Taobao marketplace.
And how can this happen then? says Fanny Jooste in the video, explaining:
Well, if you use an agency when you shop, like from factories in China, it's often the case that the factories may, like, make extra and sell it themselves.
Speculation About "Overstock"
The appearance of Caia's bag in the Christmas calendar on a Chinese low-price site quickly sparked strong reactions in the comments sections. Some also pointed out that the factory for the brand's makeup brushes was also allegedly found on the same platform.
After the discussion gained momentum, the profile behind the video chose to publish a written addition to nuance her previous statements.
Clarification because I express myself a little too confidently in the video. Of course, I don't know how the bag ended up on Taobao. Overstock/factory is just my theory based on my experience working with factories. I have asked the seller but have not received a response.
The link to the current advertisement is now reportedly removed from the marketplace.
