E-commerce accounted for 21 percent of total net sales in the second quarter, compared to 20 percent during the same period last year.
Karl Sandlund, CEO of Byggmax Group, comments on the development of e-commerce in the report:
E-commerce has developed positively during the same period. This is the result of a clearer and more focused offering where we have refined both the range and the supplier base over the past year.
Looking at the individual markets, the share of e-commerce developed differently. In the Swedish home market, which generated SEK 1.7 billion in sales during the quarter, the share of e-commerce increased to 22 percent, compared to 20 percent during the corresponding quarter of 2025. In the "Other Nordic" segment, the company generated SEK 591 million in sales, and e-commerce accounted for 24 percent, which is the same level as the previous year.
The company states that e-commerce is an important part of their omnichannel model to broaden reach in all markets.
"Increased Profitability"
In connection with the development of its digital platforms, Byggmax has also integrated artificial intelligence into its operations. According to the report, the company's AI now resolves the majority of all cases within customer service. Furthermore, the company states that they have launched AI-powered sales via chat, email and telephone.
Regarding the company's overall performance during the quarter, Karl Sandlund summarizes:
Byggmax improved the result in the second quarter. High gross margin, good cost control and strong operational execution contributed to increased profitability.
At the end of the second quarter, Byggmax Group had a total of 211 stores and eight showrooms in the Nordic market. In addition to the primary Byggmax brand, the group's store network includes 13 stores under the Right Price Tiles brand in Norway and four Lavpris Træ stores in Denmark. The group also includes Skånska Byggvaror, whose e-commerce operations are complemented by the eight physical showrooms distributed across Sweden, Norway and Finland.
