Byggmax Group has presented its interim report for the third quarter of 2026, covering the period from July to September. The Group's total net sales for the period amounted to SEK 2,088 million, compared to SEK 1,949 million for the corresponding quarter last year. This represents an increase of 7.1 percent, while comparable sales increased by 5.1 percent.

A clear driver of growth is digital commerce, which is growing at a faster rate than the Group as a whole. During the third quarter, e-commerce accounted for 17 percent of total sales, up from 16 percent during the same period last year. Even isolated to the Swedish market, the e-commerce share landed at 17 percent, compared to 16 percent last year.

In terms of SEK, the increase in share means that Byggmax e-commerce generated approximately SEK 355 million during the third quarter. This compares to around SEK 312 million during the corresponding quarter last year, representing a digital sales increase of almost 14 percent.

Approaching One Billion Online

The development during late summer and early autumn follows the same pattern as earlier in the year. This summer, Ehandel.se reported on how e-commerce grew for Byggmax during the second quarter after the company reworked its range and supplier base.

Summing up the first nine months of the year, from January to September, the Group's total net sales amounted to SEK 5,230 million, up from SEK 5,077 million the previous year. During this nine-month period, the e-commerce share has grown to 19 percent, compared to 18 percent during the corresponding period last year. This means that the Group's e-commerce generated approximately SEK 994 million during the first three quarters of the year, an increase from approximately SEK 914 million last year.

According to CEO Karl Sandlund, the digital channel plays a central role in the Group's volume growth. The strategy for the company's low-price offering is based on combining the selected basic range of physical stores with a significantly wider range online.

We also saw continued positive development of our improved online offering. At the same time, our improved e-commerce offering has strengthened both availability and sales, writes CEO Karl Sandlund in the report.

The Group's e-commerce reporting also includes the subsidiary Skånska Byggvaror. The business complements its online sales with a total of eight physical showrooms, where a new unit opened in Gothenburg during the period.

Increased Profit and Share Repurchase

On the income statement, Byggmax Group reports an operating profit (EBIT) of SEK 292 million for the third quarter, compared to SEK 258 million last year. The period's profit after tax increased to SEK 225 million, up from SEK 191 million last year.

Cash flow has also contributed to the Group's net debt decreasing to SEK 70 million at the end of the quarter, compared to SEK 196 million at the same time last year. Based on the financial position, the Board of Directors announced in a separate press release that the company is initiating a share repurchase program of up to SEK 60 million. The repurchases will start on October 26 and run until the Annual General Meeting in 2027.
