Last Friday, Sweden Buyersclub announced that the company acquired the Babyland brand, including domains and customer registers. The deal was a pure asset purchase of intellectual property rights, with no personnel included in the transfer.
However, the new owner has now chosen to hire Cajsa Olsson in a separate recruitment process, having worked with Babyland's range since 2019. She started at the company as category manager and was appointed purchasing manager in 2023, responsible for personnel, assortment strategy, campaign planning and supplier negotiations, as well as a seat on the management team.
Starts Purchasing Work Immediately
In her new role at Sweden Buyersclub, she will be tasked with building up the assortment and signing agreements with suppliers ahead of the planned relaunch of Babyland.se in the first quarter of 2027. According to the company, Cajsa Olsson already has established relationships with the brands and suppliers that they now want to bring onto the site.
Babyland has been a big part of my professional life, and I know what parents of young children are looking for and which suppliers can offer it. Now we will get the best brands in place for the launch.
Says Cajsa Olsson in a comment on the recruitment.
Built on Existing Platform
Cajsa Olsson will assume her new position immediately. Work on purchasing and supplier agreements will begin directly and run in parallel with the construction of the new storefront for Babyland on Buyersclub's existing e-commerce platform.
The investment in the newly acquired children's and baby brand is taking place during a period of economic tailwind for Sweden Buyersclub. As recently as Tuesday, the e-commerce company presented its report for the third quarter, reporting its strongest quarter to date with a revenue increase of 62 percent and a turnaround from loss to profit.
