E-commerce giant Boozt is implementing a comprehensive organizational restructuring of its commercial operations. The purpose is to simplify the organizational structure, reduce the number of management levels, and strengthen efficiency in an increasingly challenging e-commerce climate.
The change will result in the elimination of approximately ten management positions within the commercial organization. At the same time, the company announced that two key figures are leaving the group with immediate effect: co-founder and commercial director Peter G. Jørgensen, and HR director Sandra Joy Sahlertz.
Cost of 40 Million
The restructuring will incur one-time severance costs of approximately 40 million Swedish krona in 2026, which will affect the operating result in the fourth quarter. Of this amount, 10 million krona relates to accelerated expensing of ongoing incentive programs, which does not affect cash flow.
The savings will take full effect from November 1 and are expected to improve the operating margin by approximately 0.3 percentage points on a full-year basis. As a result of the cost reductions, Boozt is now revising its full-year forecast upwards, after previously during the autumn having revised the forecast. The adjusted operating margin for 2026 is now expected to land in the upper part of the previously communicated range of 6.5 to 7 percent.
Thanks Co-founder
Boozt's founder and CEO Hermann Haraldsson explains that the measures are necessary to keep the company agile and reduce complexity within the organization:
At Boozt, we have always believed in keeping our organization simple, efficient and focused. As we continue to develop the business, we are now taking further steps to streamline our commercial operations, reduce organizational complexity and ensure clear accountability throughout the organization.
At the same time, he emphasizes that the news is difficult on a personal level after many years of collaboration:
The changes unfortunately also mean that we are saying goodbye to colleagues who have played important roles in Boozt's success. Peter G. Jørgensen has played a crucial role in our journey from the very beginning, and I am personally grateful for his commitment, dedication and the many years we have worked together. I would also like to extend a warm thank you to Sandra Joy Sahlertz and all affected colleagues for their contribution to Boozt and wish them all the best in the future.
