In recent years, Axel Arigato has invested in London with both offices and stores, but now a restructuring is taking place. The Brand, Product, and Design departments are being relocated to the headquarters in Gothenburg. As part of the company's strategy, they want to consolidate staff to benefit from the collaboration that arises when more people work under the same roof.
By reducing the number of offices in different countries, the idea is to make the business easier to manage, explains founder Albin Johansson to the website Habit. The London office remains, but with a smaller workforce of six to eight people.
Seeking Managers and Creatives
In connection with the change, Axel Arigato has initiated a recruitment process. On the company's career page, a number of vacant positions are listed with locations in Gothenburg.
Among other things, the company is looking for a Brand Manager, a Content Manager, graphic designers, and product specialists. A Head of Visual Merchandising and various types of designers are also to be hired. The application deadline for several of the roles is June 2026.
New CEO and Profit in the Financial Statements
In addition to the workforce being changed and growing, changes have also occurred at the top.
According to Breakit, Albin Johansson stepped down as CEO in early 2026 to become Chairman of the Board instead. According to information from Bolgsverket, Frédéric Serrant took over as the new external CEO in February 2026. The other founder, Max Svärdh, left his operational role already in 2024.
Financially, Axel Arigato AB reported a positive result in its annual report for 2024 (which is the latest published annual report). Turnover landed at SEK 921 million, which was an increase compared to SEK 884 million the year before. Operating profit amounted to SEK 17.4 million.
The annual report shows that the result increased due to increased sales combined with reduced operating costs, including after a reorganization in spring 2024 that reduced personnel costs.
Continued Expansion into New Regions
Despite the business being centralized in Sweden, the e-commerce retailer continues to expand its physical presence internationally.
According to the company's sustainability report, Axel Arigato opened a new store in Dubai in 2025. This is the company's first franchise store and marks the company's entry into a new market in the Middle East.
