Ehandel.se recently reported on Avensia's preliminary figures for the third quarter, as well as the announcement that CFO Lisa Logren has decided to resign from the company at the turn of the year. On Friday morning, the e-commerce consultant presented its solution for the finance function. Board Chairman Anders Wehtje will step into an operational role as the new CFO, effective Monday, November 9th.
In connection with Anders Wehtje assuming the position, he will relinquish his role on the board. Vice Chairman Per Wargéus will therefore take over the chairmanship until the annual general meeting on May 5, 2027.
Twenty Years of Experience with the Company
Anders Wehtje has a long history within Avensia and has closely followed the business for over two decades. According to the company, his prior knowledge is expected to facilitate the transition at a time when the focus is on improving financial performance.
I have been involved in Avensia since 2005 and have seen the company develop from SEK 14 million in turnover and 19 employees to today's SEK 403 million in turnover with 269 employees. In 2025, the company achieved its best operating profit ever, but we still have a journey to go to deliver on our financial goals. I believe I can contribute to that journey with my knowledge of the organization, business model and our cost structure. It will also be a privilege to once again work with Robin, the management and other employees, says Anders Wehtje in a comment.
Avensia's CEO Robin Gustafsson also emphasizes the benefits of recruiting someone who is already well versed in the business and its governance.
I have worked with Anders for twenty years and his profile is what the company needs today. Anders knows the organization and can come in and deliver immediately. We have more work to do to reach our financial goals and we look forward to tackling these challenges together, says Robin Gustafsson.
Confirmed Report Shows Mixed Development
The recruitment takes place shortly after Avensia published its complete interim report for the third quarter on October 28th. The report confirms the preliminary figures where net sales increased by 1.5 percent to SEK 90.3 million, compared to SEK 89 million during the corresponding period last year. This represents a break in the trend after previous quarters of declining sales, although total sales for the first nine months of the year have decreased to SEK 297.2 million from last year's SEK 317.1 million.
The market has been challenging this year for IT and e-commerce consultants, where Ehandel.se previously highlighted how overcapacity in the industry has led to tough margin pressure. To adjust its suit, Avensia implemented a cost-saving program that burdened the third quarter with SEK 5 million. The reported operating profit (EBIT) landed at SEK 3.9 million, down from SEK 6.7 million the year before. Adjusted for one-time costs, adjusted operating profit amounted to SEK 8.9 million, which corresponds to an adjusted operating margin of 9.9 percent. This is just below the company's short-term target of 10 percent.
A closer examination of the confirmed report also shows a clear divide between the company's two business areas. The traditional core business within e-commerce, Commerce, decreased its sales by 6 percent during the quarter. It is also within this segment that the savings measures have been implemented, in parallel with the business shifting towards AI and agent-based software development. At the same time, the Information Management business area grew by 48 percent and turned to profit, driven by increased demand within Supply Chain and product information management systems such as PIM and MDM.
