In September, Airmee opened a new logistics terminal in Örebro. This establishment means that residents of Örebro, Karlstad, Eskilstuna, Norrköping and Linköping can now order products in the morning and have them delivered to their door in the evening. The goods are shipped from the online pharmacy's warehouse in Morgongåva directly to the new hub.
This investment means that a total of 3.7 million people across the country can benefit from the service.
Through this investment, we can offer a completely new level of service to our customers in the region. What really makes a difference in customers' everyday lives is that we now deliver on the same day, seven days a week – even Saturdays and Sundays. We know how important it is to have quick access to your medication. That security should be there regardless of the day of the week, says Yasmina Djedou, Head of Last Mile at Apotea.
Expanding Existing Network
For the freight company, the expansion is about reaching more recipients in new geographical areas. The current scaling builds on the logistics network that already covers cities such as Stockholm, Uppsala and Västerås.
Apotea and Airmee have jointly been driving forces in setting a new standard for what fast deliveries mean. That we can now give almost a million more people in central Sweden the opportunity to have their goods delivered home the same evening, every day of the week, is the next step in that work – and exactly what our network is built for, says Jonathan Svensson, Chief Business Officer at Airmee.
Hopes for Changed Purchasing Behavior
The online pharmacy sees the faster logistics chain as a way to influence how customers shop. The hope is that consumers will feel confident using e-commerce even when needs are more urgent.
I am very pleased that we can now offer more of our customers same-day delivery. We are constantly working to improve the customer experience, and the ability to receive your medication on the same day you order it is an important piece of the puzzle. I think it could make it easier for more people to order, for example, prescription drugs from us in the future, says Pär Svärdson, CEO of Apotea.
