The company develops solutions intended for e-commerce logistics, among other things. The range includes picking arms and mobile robots that transport pallets and shelves in warehouse environments. The systems are used to automate sorting, picking and transport to handle large order volumes.
Amazon's participation in the investment round has a clear connection to the AWS cloud service, which serves as Neura's primary platform for AI training and data processing. At the same time, the investment gives Amazon insight into external development of e-commerce logistics. The e-commerce giant announced in a previous agreement from April this year that it will evaluate Neura's robotics technology for potential use in selected distribution centers, despite Amazon previously developing and using its own warehouse robots.
This investment is a natural extension of our strategic partnership with Neura Robotics. Amazon contributes the global cloud infrastructure and AI technology that physical AI requires on a large scale, says Nafea Bshara, Vice President at Amazon.
Neura Robotics states that their current order book exceeds $1 billion and that the goal is to reach mass production of several million robots by 2030.
