The Norwegian AI company Mimir, which previously pitched at the e-commerce event NXT Nordic, has closed a pre-seed round of $600,000 (approximately 6 million Swedish krona). The capital will be used to further develop their operational platform and expand the workforce.

Despite already achieving profitability, Mimir chose to bring in external capital. The funding round was led by Oslo-based venture capital firm Sondo Capital, with participation from several business angels active in technology and e-commerce, including those with backgrounds at companies like Kry, Enode and Whitson.

Mimir was founded in 2024 by Jørgen Vartdal Halse, Jens Kristoffersen and Øyvind Monsen. The company was initially introduced as an AI-powered customer service platform focused on B2C e-commerce. For readers of Ehandel.se, the company is a familiar name since October 2024, when they were one of the startup companies pitching their business idea to the investor jury during the NXT Nordic event.

Today, the platform handles approximately 250,000 customer conversations per month for around 60 brands in five countries. Customers include companies such as Villoid, Hifi Klubben and Holzweiler. The goal moving forward is to manage more parts of e-commerce retailers' operational flows, such as orders, deliveries and returns.

Customer service is just the starting point. Our vision is to automate the operational work that slows down e-commerce teams, while providing consumers with instant, personalized assistance around the clock. This funding round allows us to further accelerate product development, double the team and save more time and money for e-commerce brands," says Jørgen Vartdal Halse, CEO and co-founder of Mimir.

Mimir integrates with e-commerce retailers' existing systems to be able to perform tasks from start to finish. Sondo Capital, which focuses on early-stage technology companies, sees a change in how e-commerce operations will function in the future.

We truly believe that customer service and e-commerce operations as we know them will change drastically with AI. The Mimir team embodies exactly what we are looking for; technically strong founders who combine a good product with a genuine market interest in a massive market!, says Henrik Hatlebrekke, General Partner and co-founder at Sondo Capital.
