After more than 20 years, Klaus Toft Nørgaard has chosen to leave Cheffelo, the group behind brands such as Linas Matkasse, Norwegian Godtlevert and Danish RetNemt. Toft Nørgaard founded RetNemt in 2006 and has been part of the company's management since the business was integrated into Cheffelo in 2016.

The departure is amicable and until he formally steps down in October, he will lead Cheffelo's pilot launch in the Finnish market and drive the continued strategic work. Afterwards, the plan is for him to move on to other business projects.

Cheffelo's CEO, Walker Kinman, comments on the departure:

When Klaus founded RetNemt in 2006, it was one of the first companies in the world to offer meal kits, paving the way for a whole new category. Since RetNemt became part of Cheffelo in 2016, Klaus has continued to play an important role in our growth. Now that he chooses to focus on other business projects, I, along with my colleagues, would like to extend a warm thank you to Klaus for his long-term efforts and wish him all the best in the future.

Klaus Toft Nørgaard adds:

Looking back at the start of RetNemt and the fact that we are now a profitable and growing Scandinavian meal kit company, I feel great pride in having been part of that journey. I look forward to continuing to work with the team on our upcoming launch in Finland, as well as with the strategic work, and after October it will be exciting to be able to focus on my other business projects.

Cheffelo has announced that it does not plan to recruit a replacement for the role of Chief Business Development Officer. The responsibilities will instead be distributed within the existing management team.

Growing Customer Base and Turnover

The change in management takes place during a period of growth for the company. Earlier in April, Cheffelo published preliminary figures for the first quarter of 2026, which showed a turnover of 374.6 million Swedish kronor. This corresponds to an increase of 11.4 percent compared to the same period last year. The number of active customers also showed growth and amounted to 92,900, an increase of 7 percent from the previous year.

The full quarterly report for the first months of the year is expected to be published on May 6th.
