The electronics chain Power is now entering the public sector in Sweden as a supplier. The company has won a procurement in Vaggeryds municipality and will therefore be a complete supplier of both large and small appliances to all municipal operations for the next four years.

From the company's side, the deal is described as a historic breakthrough in the Swedish market. The agreement also has a clear local connection, as Power's Nordic central warehouse is located in Skillingaryd in Vaggeryds municipality. Sinan Bour, B2B Manager at Power Sweden, comments on the new agreement:

The fact that it is Vaggeryd that we are working with means a lot to us. This is where we have our warehouse, and now we want to do a really good job for our neighbors.

From million-dollar loss to profit

The procurement comes three years after Power opened its first Swedish department stores. According to Magnus Kreuger, CEO of Power Sweden, the deal is a receipt for the work that has been done since the start:

We have only been in Sweden for three years, and during those years we have focused on building quality in everything from range to service. Now an entire municipality trusts us for four more years.

Entry into the public sector coincides with the electronics chain turning its financial development around in the country. In the spring, Power reported its first positive result in Sweden, when the company went from a loss of 148 million Swedish krona in 2024 to a profit of 54 million Swedish krona for the 2025 financial year. Magnus Kreuger sees the procurement as the next step in the establishment:

The Swedish electronics market has long been a graveyard for foreign chains. First, we showed that we can make money here. Now we are showing that we can also meet the requirements of the public sector.

Continued expansion in Sweden

Going forward, Power plans to open 30 new department stores in Sweden over the next five years. In parallel with the roll-out of traditional department stores, the company is testing new formats and organizational structures.

Recently, Ehandel.se reported that Power is launching its first physical outlet concept in Sweden through a unit in Västerås. The chain has also established a new leadership role to scale up the franchise network.
