As Prisjakt prepares for a stock market listing, competition is increasing in the price comparison market. Following a period of e-commerce departures, the player is now being challenged by Sweclockers' new service Prisgeek, while owners sell shares for hundreds of millions.

As Ehandel.se recently reported, Prisjakt is preparing for a listing on First North in the fourth quarter of 2026 at a valuation of 675 million Swedish krona. In connection with the listing, existing owners, led by Eequity, will sell shares for over 200 million krona, reports Breakit.

The listing plans come after a period where several e-commerce companies have chosen to leave the site. Earlier this year, computer giant Inet left the platform. Other players such as Cyberphoto, Jollyroom and Teknikproffset have also withdrawn due to adjusted price models and click prices.

Sweclockers redirects traffic

Now, further competition is coming from the media house Geeks, which runs Sweclockers. The forum has historically been an important source of traffic within consumer electronics, but going forward, Geeks chooses to challenge by launching its own price comparison service, Prisgeek.

In the Sweclockers forum founder Edin Mehinovic recently announced that the site's bargain portal will now link to its own service. Members are also encouraged to link directly to Prisgeek instead of Prisjakt and Pricerunner, in order to build up the platform's product connections and price history.

More challengers on the market

Prisgeek is not the only new player wanting to gain market share. Earlier this year, the Finnish challenger Prisbot entered the Swedish market. Their establishment took place with the explicit aim of attracting e-commerce companies that have chosen to leave the established price comparison sites.
