Mattias Pihlström has over 25 years of experience in Swedish e-commerce and digital transformation. He founded the e-commerce consultancy Brightstep in 2001, which for many years was one of Sweden's leading consultants for major retailers such as Stadium, Elgiganten and Åhléns before the company was acquired by Accenture Interactive in 2015. In January 2027, he will assume his new role at Inretrn.

The Inretrn platform focuses on automating the post-purchase journey and today handles returns, exchanges, complaints and repairs for well-known brands such as Nelly, Björn Borg, Gina Tricot, Nudie Jeans and Svenskt Tenn.

"Very exciting phase"

Retail has evolved enormously over the past 25 years, but there are still large parts of the customer journey where both the business and the experience can be significantly improved. That is also where I see a great opportunity for Inretrn. The company is in a very exciting phase, with a strong position in the Nordics and great opportunities to grow further together with customers and partners. Being able to combine my experience of building companies, developing businesses and driving change with that journey feels incredibly fun," says Mattias Pihlström.

Inretrn has certainly stepped on the gas this year. The company secured nearly 100 million SEK in a round earlier this year led by Viking Growth. The company also continues to attract stars in the industry. As recently as last month, it became clear that the company recruited Jetshop co-founder Kristofer Hillhammar as the new CPO. With Pihlström on board, Inretrn secures further strategic weight.

Mattias combines technical knowledge with extensive experience in developing retail and implementing change in large organizations. He understands both the customer journey and the internal processes required for it to function. That experience will be important as we help more retailers simplify their post-purchase flows. We are very pleased to welcome him to us," says Fredrik Hedblom, CEO of Inretrn.
