Shopify confirms via its support account on X that it is aware of the issue affecting store administrators and that its team is working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. The company’s official status page states that the login problem has been identified and a solution is currently being worked on.
On the Downdetector platform, thousands of users have reported errors. Of the reported problems, 63 percent concern the website, 26 percent the login function, and 11 percent the platform’s app. Discussions on the Reddit forum indicate that the problem is global, with reports from e-commerce businesses in countries such as the United Kingdom and France. Several merchants confirm, however, that the disruption is limited to the backend system and that the e-commerce stores themselves, as well as the checkout process for end customers, are still functioning.
Some users on the X platform report that the system freezes when they try to access the website. At the same time, some e-commerce businesses on Reddit express dissatisfaction that Shopify is classifying the event as degraded performance rather than an actual outage.
As a temporary measure, Shopify reports that some users have been able to regain access by canceling the login process and restarting it. Several e-commerce businesses also report that Shopify’s mobile app is still usable, provided you are already logged in.
