Nils Press is fundamentally a Master of Science in Industrial Economics and has previously worked as a data analyst at Blocket. In his new role, one of his main areas of focus will be to achieve the company's goal of having over half of moped deliveries carried out with electric mopeds. To manage increased delivery volumes, the company is also testing logistics solutions such as specialized trailers for bicycle lanes and all-electric three-wheelers.

We at Foodora have come a long way in electrifying our vehicle fleet, not least through the phasing out of two-stroke mopeds and the increase in electric mopeds. We have the vehicles, the team and the basic conditions in place, and now it requires hard work and determination to take the next big step in the green transition,” says Nils Press.

Foodora Sweden's CEO, Suseem Jain, comments on the appointment and states that Nils Press will be a key person in driving the company's electrification, shortening delivery times and creating a smoother experience for partners.

At the same time as the Swedish management team is being restructured, the deal surrounding the parent company is progressing. In July, it was announced that American Uber is acquiring Foodora's German parent company Delivery Hero. As part of meeting competitive requirements, the Swedish business, along with 13 other markets, is being sold to the investment company SSW Partners.

Now it is clear that the board of Delivery Hero has formally voted to approve Uber's takeover bid, which is valued at close to $15 billion. Shareholders have until November 5th to take a position on the offer. Thereafter, SSW Partners is expected to drive the process of finding a new and more long-term owner for the Swedish business.
