According to Breakit, the e-commerce company Boxbollen has reported its annual report for 2025, which shows a halved sales and a negative result for the first time since its start. In 2024, the company had a turnover of 649 million Swedish kronor and had communicated a goal of exceeding one billion Swedish kronor in turnover and reaching a profit of 220 million Swedish kronor in 2025. The outcome was instead a turnover of 330 million Swedish kronor.

The pre-tax result landed at minus 31 million Swedish kronor, compared to plus 48 million Swedish kronor the previous year. The company's CEO, Victor Eriksson, explains the loss with external circumstances and a shift in the company's marketing plan.

The fiscal year was unfortunately marked by headwinds from external factors, primarily US tariff increases and negative currency effects, combined with the fact that this year's major marketing push started slightly later than optimal, says Victor Eriksson.

At the end of 2025, the company's cash amounted to 135 million Swedish kronor. Despite the reduced result, management states that Boxbollen made an active choice to continue financing marketing and product development. The company carried out collaborations with actors such as MrBeast and Conor McGregor and launched the new product Footbollen in collaboration with Declan Rice.

These are investments in the brand that extend far beyond a single fiscal year's bottom line, says Victor Eriksson and comments on the financial basis:

Over the past two years, we have generated a total turnover of over 100 million US dollars, and we have been profitable every year since the start with the exception of last year, which has given us a stable base to stand on.
