Clas Ohlson Q1 2026/2027: Turnover and operating profit increase sharply

"Very strong development".

When Clas Ohlson summarizes the first quarter of the year, it is clear that the retail chain is having its best opening quarter ever. A warm start to the summer and growing e-commerce boosted business, lifting both turnover and profit to new levels.

During the period May to July, the company's turnover landed at SEK 3.3 billion. This represents an increase of 16 percent compared to the same period last year. Operating profit also increased, reaching SEK 393 million, which corresponds to a 42 percent increase.

Acquisitions drive e-commerce

The digital business is a growing part of the company's development. During the quarter, e-commerce generated SEK 734 million in turnover, an increase of 35 percent. Today, online trade accounts for 22 percent of total turnover.

The company's expansion through subsidiaries and new markets explains part of the increase. Among other things, the company Batteriexperten was established in the Netherlands and Poland during June.

Notable in the quarter was a very strong development in several of Spares' sales channels, both regarding private customers and B2B," says CEO Kristofer Tonström.

More physical stores

The early summer weather left its mark on shopping baskets. As temperatures rose, interest in fans and air conditioning increased. Categories such as technology accessories and cooking products also attracted buyers to the chain.

At the same time, the company continues to work with its store network. At the end of the quarter, 250 stores were in operation. A new store opened in Sweden during the period, and another three stores are being prepared for opening in Norway and Finland.

Since the launch of the new strategy in 2022, Clas Ohlson has become a structurally stronger company and the development continued during the first quarter of 2026/27," says Kristofer Tonström.
