Being called in for refresher training often results in a loss of income, as compensation generally consists of a state daily allowance. But now, Apotea is introducing a measure to cover the difference so that employees do not lose money during their absence.
The company points out that the Swedish total defence system requires personnel to be able to leave their regular jobs to practice for a potential crisis or war situation.
We see it as a matter of course that employees called in to serve Sweden's defence should not suffer financially at the same time. The total defence system depends on people being able to leave their ordinary work to be trained and exercised, and as a company we want to take our responsibility and contribute to Swedish defence capability. This is another concrete way for us to do that, says Pär Svärdson, CEO of Apotea.
Apotea has previously introduced procedures where office staff are trained to be able to step in for other functions. The purpose is to keep medicine deliveries to customers going even in the event of disruptions and in a changed global situation.
The company currently has over 3 million active customers and has gradually built up its preparedness over the past few years.
