Bergendahl Group expands: Glitter opens new store in Jönköping

"Strong profitability has given us the opportunity".

Expansion announcements are coming thick and fast within the Bergendahl Group. Following yesterday's news that the interior design chain Granit is entering the Asian market to turn around profitability, it is now time for the next move from the same owner. It is now clear that the jewelry chain Glitter is also expanding its store network, but with its sights set on the domestic market.

The jewelry chain Glitter continues its Nordic expansion. On October 9th, the company, which is part of Bergendahl Fashion, will open a new physical store in Jönköping city, adding to its existing network.

Several years of strong profitability have given us the opportunity to continue growing. We want to be the obvious choice for jewelry and accessories in the Nordic region, and with this establishment in Jönköping city, we are strengthening our presence and accessibility for both existing and new customers,” says CEO Susanne Börjesson.

Economic slowdown in the latest financial statements

To finance its expansion, the chain is relying on the results from previous years, as the latest submitted financial statements for Glitter International AB show a decrease in sales.

During the financial year which ended on August 31, 2025, turnover fell by 3 percent to SEK 261.4 million, compared to SEK 269.2 million the previous year. Operating profit decreased from SEK 13 million to minus SEK 1.1 million.
