The Danish furniture and interior design chain Jysk is expanding its logistics network in both Sweden and Southern Europe. The company has signed an agreement for a new 24,000 square meter warehouse in Nässjö, which, among other things, handles Nordic e-commerce, and simultaneously announces that it is establishing its first distribution center in Italy. The purpose of the investments is to increase capacity, shorten delivery times and ensure the supply of goods for digital orders and physical stores.

The facility in Nässjö currently supplies 257 stores in Sweden and Finland with goods, and handles all e-commerce deliveries to customers in both markets. To meet increased volumes, the company has signed a lease agreement with property company Catena for a new premises that complements the existing automated distribution center and external warehouse. With the addition, Jysk’s total warehouse area in Nässjö amounts to just over 134,000 square meters. The premises are located close to the city’s dry port, which enables continued goods transport by container train from the Port of Gothenburg.

Jysk has grown strongly in recent years and we continue to see good growth opportunities ahead. With this warehouse solution, we are strengthening our capacity to meet future needs,” says Emil Östlin, Logistics Director for Jysk’s distribution center in Nässjö.

In parallel with the expansion in Sweden, the company announces that it has chosen the town of Rovigo in the Veneto region for its first distribution center in Italy, which will be the company’s eleventh logistics location in Europe. The investment is intended to support the flow of goods in Italy and serve as a logistics hub for other Southern European markets. During the 2024/2025 financial year, Jysk Italy generated 152.3 million euros in revenue, representing an increase of 24.5 percent compared to the previous year. While awaiting the completion of the permanent and automated facility, the company has leased a warehouse of approximately 90,000 square meters in the area to maintain logistics.

The new Italian logistics establishment is expected to play a central role in the e-commerce supply chain in Southern Europe. By moving warehousing closer to end customers, the company’s goal is to reduce delivery times for online orders and ensure more consistent product availability.

The opening of a distribution center in Italy marks an important stage in Jysk’s growth strategy in the country and will allow us to be even closer to our customers. Faster deliveries and higher product availability will have a significant impact on the shopping experience, both in store and online,” says Cesare Bailo, CEO and Country Manager for Jysk Italy.
