According to several international reports, a distribution center in Elektrostal, located approximately 50 kilometers east of Moscow, and a warehouse in Kotovsk in the Tambov region were hit. Russian military sources and local authorities state that over 370 drones were used during the operation.
Local representatives, including Tambov Governor Evgeniy Pervyshov, have confirmed that at least seven warehouse workers on the night shift were killed in the attacks and around twenty people were injured. Russian air defense systems reportedly intercepted some of the drones before they reached their targets.
Industry analysts note that the operation may indicate a strategic shift where Ukraine is now focusing on disrupting Russian domestic supply chains and e-commerce logistics infrastructure.
From the Ukrainian side, however, it is claimed that the facilities were of military importance. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the incident via platform X:
In response to Russian attacks on our civilian infrastructure and on our cities and communities, two large logistics facilities in the Moscow and Tambov regions were hit.
He further stated that the e-commerce centers were used to "deliver sanctioned components for drone production and navigation equipment."
As a direct consequence of the events, Russia carried out new attacks on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and several other regions on Sunday.
