Pet Pawr Group, led by majority owner and CEO Christer Åberg, has expanded in recent years through several acquisitions. The group, backed by the private equity firm Eequity and Finnish financial company Mandatum, acquired, among others, the Swedish e-commerce retailer Tinybuddy in 2024. Later that year, the Norwegian chain PetXL was also integrated.

By integrating PetXL into PPG, we are not only strengthening our position in the Nordic pet care market, but also creating the scale needed for sustainable growth, commented Christer Åberg in connection with the acquisition.

The group's strategy has been to consolidate operations under one roof to achieve profitability. As part of this streamlining, Tinybuddy's local warehouse in Gävle was moved to the group's main warehouse in Kungsängen in early 2026, resulting in union negotiations and layoffs.

Now, the company has presented its annual report for the full year 2025. Turnover amounted to 963 million Swedish krona, an increase from 768 million Swedish krona in 2024. At the same time, operating profit shows a loss of 157 million Swedish krona, compared to a loss of 51 million Swedish krona the year before.

Christer Åberg has previously stated that the goal was for the group to exceed one billion Swedish krona in turnover in 2025. According to the CEO's updated forecast, a turnover of close to 1.5 billion Swedish krona is now required for Pet Pawr to reach its long-term profitability goal.
