Kid ASA, the parent company of Hemtex, has published preliminary sales figures for the second quarter of 2026. For the Hemtex segment, revenue amounted to SEK 338.3 million, representing an increase of 12.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
E-commerce is the area showing the greatest growth. During the second quarter of the year, Hemtex's online sales increased by 36.4 percent. For the first half of the year as a whole, e-commerce growth amounts to 34.2 percent. At the same time, the number of physical stores in the network decreased from 123 to 122, after two stores were closed, one was renovated, and one changed location during the quarter. No new stores were established.
In May 2026, Hemtex launched a so-called ”Digital First” initiative in Germany through the e-commerce platform Hemtex.de. The quarterly update shows that online sales from the German market are now booked under the Hemtex segment. Kid ASA CEO, Marianne Fulford, commented on the establishment and the chosen strategy earlier in the quarter:
Germany represents a large and attractive market, where Scandinavian design is highly valued, but also a market with high competition. Our approach is therefore deliberate and gradual.
The establishment is logistically handled from the group's Nordic central warehouse in Viared outside Borås. The investment rate is initially kept down to evaluate the market.
At the group level for the entire Kid Group, total revenue in the second quarter increased by 9.1 percent to NOK 914.8 million. E-commerce accounted for 15.9 percent of the group's total turnover during the period.
The complete quarterly report for Q2 2026 will be presented on August 20.
