In March, Ehandel.se reported that PTS initiated a supervisory review of Postnord's delivery operations. The background was that during the 2025 fiscal year, the company delivered only 94.4 percent of domestic letters within two business days. This meant that it did not meet the then-current requirement of 95 percent.
In connection with the initiation of the supervision, the authority requested a written account from Postnord and Joakim Levin, head of PTS's unit for postal matters, explained the situation:
Postnord has taken measures in recent years to maintain the profitability of the business. For example, postal flights have been reduced. However, it is important that such measures do not prevent Postnord from meeting established requirements.
Now it is clear that PTS is choosing to conclude the ongoing review. The reason is that the government has decided on new rules for postal delivery, which came into force on June 16, 2026.
The previous rules have been replaced by new guidelines stating that 85 percent of domestic letters must be delivered within three business days, and that 97 percent must arrive within five business days.
Since the previous requirements no longer apply, PTS assesses that there is no basis to continue the review. According to the authority, figures from April 2026 also show that Postnord currently meets the new requirements regarding transit times with a margin.
