At 07.00 on Thursday, Power opened its updated store in the Gothenburg area. The first customers had already taken their places in the queue by 11.00 the day before. Unlike the chain's recent department store opening in Halmstad, this morning's queuing took place in sunshine.

According to the company, the department store in Torpavallen generated 1.3 million Swedish krona during the first hour, which is noted as the company's strongest opening hour in terms of turnover this year.

It's a truly fantastic atmosphere here today. We have put an incredible amount of time and energy into this renovation to optimize the department store and create a modern and inspiring experience for our customers. To be met with this enormous response gives us an incredible tailwind going forward, says Robin Gotin, store manager at Power Torpavallen.

Among the best-selling items this morning were small appliances, such as coffee machines and household appliances, as well as mobile phones, with the latest iPhone 17 model being particularly in demand. The first in the store were customers Saeeda Iman and Esha Amjad, who queued to purchase a computer and tablet.

The reopening in Gothenburg is part of Power's stated strategy to establish 30 new department stores in Sweden over the next five years. Earlier this summer, the chain opened department stores in, among others, Halmstad, which then generated a turnover of one million Swedish krona during the first hour and landed on a total of over ten million Swedish krona for the entire opening day.
